Nav Gill joined the County of Sacramento in August of 2007. Gill previously served as the Assistant City Manager and the Finance Director for the City of Folsom. While at Folsom, he improved the accountability of City operations, and assisted the City Manager in implementing the City’s strategic plan. He revised the budget format, resulting in the City’s first ever Distinguished Budget Award. His work also led to a successful upgrade of Folsom’s bonds.
Prior to arriving in California, Nav spent 14 years working for the City of Durham, North Carolina, in a variety of senior financial positions. He also led a number of economic development efforts there that resulted in the construction of a new baseball stadium and redevelopment of the area around it. Nav managed the City's numerous annexations, working with the City's departments to evaluate the existing and proposed land uses of each area for operational and fiscal impacts on city services. He also successfully led the effort that resulted in the City receiving the highest bond ratings by demonstrating the city’s management, economic and fiscal strengths.
Nav holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Laura, have three children and reside in El Dorado Hills.
